  Description

Encaustic, collage on wood. After creating alot of heavy, political commentary-type works, I needed to do something fun. I discovered encaustic (painting with hot wax and pigment) and loved it! Particularly, the way I could combine the wax with my handmade papers, pastels and photographs. Here, I posed my daughter, Evigne, in the backyard and had her point to a magical invader - supplied by my son, Pascal, that had escaped being used as giftwrap. I love the textures, layers and depth this medium allows.
